With the impact of Covid- 19, steering people to outdoor venues for social gathering, vacationing, and remote work, WiFi has become a major focus and has quickly transitioned from an amenity to a necessity. With that in mind, Cozy Pond Camping Resort wanted to give their campers an at-home Wi-Fi experience of exceptional quality. A robust, secure & scalable cloud managed solution, that could be easily maintained, and 100% supported. During these uncertain times, they also wanted a system that could generate additional revenue for the park. Free basic internet would be provided as well as a premium tier where they could charge for enhanced bandwidth. The Premium plans would allow Guests to have an “at home experience” with ability to support Live TV and Audio streaming services, Video Conference Calls, multi-media devices including Apple TV and Roku. They wanted the resort to be under one network and include advanced enterprise features, including a splash page for guest login. Having one company that could design, architect, install and a centrally managed system that could be remotely monitored and supported was critical. A comprehensive enterprise-class wireless solution was required and Sigmawifi was the answer.

Objectives

Challenges:

• Heavily wooded and needed GREAT Outdoor Wi-Fi Coverage
• Design needed to accommodate over 300 connected devices at one time
• Design needed to support tiered bandwidth where you paid for premium service
• Design needed to provide signal strength throughout park with -65db signal strength or better
• Solution needed to handle bandwidth intensive applications our customers demand
• 24/7 Guest support was a requirement
• It was essential to have a single partner to proactively support and maintain our system

Solution:

• Installed an extensive wireless and wired backhaul system to extend connectivity throughout park including Two 500’+ dual strand aerial fiber drops which extended connectivity through wooded areas

• Incorporated a software-based credit card payment system that offered tiered bandwidth and customized plans to meet the customer’s needs.
